Michael F. Cahill has announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for re-election as McKean County coroner in the May 21 primary.
He has served four, four-year terms in the office of coroner.
“Since being elected coroner in 2004 and prior to that as a deputy coroner for 17 years, I have been privileged to be a part of the death investigation of hundreds of people in McKean County,” Cahill said. “My years of service to the residents of McKean County currently stands at 32 years.”
He continued, “Over the years this position has allowed me to use my education, training, and experience of over 39 years to provide the answers to the questions which law enforcement officials and the decedent’s survivors have regarding the circumstances surrounding a death.
“While these answers are not easily determined or accepted, I have always strived to perform these duties in a dignified and professional manner. I feel that my experience and training will allow me to best serve the community for the Republican Party and the residents of McKean County for the next four years,” he said.
For the past 40 years, through his efforts and the efforts of his father, Frank Cahill, before him, “the taxpayers of McKean County have not been burdened with any expenses of paying for or maintaining an office, staff, a morgue, automotive equipment, and the ancillary costs of the other row offices in McKean County,” he said, adding he wants to continue to provide the same service to the county.
