Cameron Co. edges O-E in OT; NTL girls roundup

EMPORIUM — It was a chance to keep pace with Coudersport for a shot at the North Tier League girls crown.

So, it’s not a surprise Cameron County and Otto-Eldred needed a few more minutes to decide the winner on Tuesday.

Hailey Hilfiger recorded a double-double to key the Lady Red Raiders to a 53-48 victory over Otto-Eldred in overtime to stay within a game of the Falcons for first place.

The two teams will meet Feb. 6 in Emporium to decide the league.

Hilfiger scored 11 points, brought down 13 rebounds and also had three steals to key the Lady Raiders. Also scoring in double figures were Kamme Guisto with 14 points and three assists, Kaelee Bresslin with 13 points and Alyvia McKimm with 11 points.

Otto-Eldred (12-6, 10-3) took a 14-8 lead at the end of the first quarter, but by the half, Cameron County had evened the score at 25-all. The two teams went back-and-forth in the second half until Bresslin scored off an inbounds play with 30 seconds to play to tie the game at 47 and send the game into overtime.

Cameron County outscored O-E 6-1 in overtime to secure the win.

“Both teams left it out on the floor tonight,” said Cameron County coach Dave Sullivan.

Keying the Lady Terrors were Haylee Frederick with 16 points and Britney Greeley with 12.

Cameron County improves to 14-5 overall, 12-2 in North Tier League. The Lady Raiders travel to Smethport Friday.
