Due to the extremely cold weather in the forecast, several area school districts have decided to cancel classes and after-school activities on Wednesday.

Districts that have already announced closures for Wednesday include Bradford, Smethport, Northern Potter, Allegany-Limestone (N.Y.), Coudersport, Galeton, Oswayo Valley, Cameron County, Port Allegany, St. Marys, Johnsonburg and Ridgway.

Below-zero to near-zero temperatures are expected to last at least into Friday morning.
