Charges against an Eldred man accused of assaulting a teenager were bound to McKean County Court Monday before District Judge William Todd.
Gregory A. Densmore, 28, of 2B Cris Drive, Eldred, is charged with aggravated assault and strangulation, both first-degree felonies; endangering the welfare of children, a first-degree misdemeanor; simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, both second-degree misdemeanors; and harassment, a summary charge.
According to the criminal complaint, at 4:24 p.m. Dec. 16, a 14-year-old boy told his younger brother to be quiet, and Densmore yelled at him. The 14-year-old tried to leave; Densmore chased him outside around the building, but eventually went back inside.
When the teen also went back inside — to grab a jacket — Densmore approached him, grabbed him by the arm, then grabbed his throat, court records indicated.
The teen, who also suffers from asthma, told police that it was “extremely difficult to breathe” when Densmore grabbed his throat; also, it caused his neck to hurt and “he felt like his eyes were going to pop out of his head,” the criminal complaint stated.
According to court records, the teen was able to free himself by pushing Densmore’s arm away, pushing Densmore to the ground and running to Munchies restaurant to call 911.
Densmore is in McKean County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
