Coudy hands O-E first league loss, CC now lone unbeaten in NTL

COUDERSPORT —It had been an uncharacteristically slow start for the Coudersport girls basketball team.

But after losing their coach and leading scorers from last season, it was easy to forgive the Falcons for struggling to an 0-3 start. That rough stretch, however, seems firmly behind them now.

Sarah Chambers recorded 17 points and Rosalyn Page totaled 13 to lead Coudersport to a 46-49 victory over Otto-Eldred in a North Tier League matchup Thursday night. Coudy (4-3, 4-1) not only won its fourth straight, but handed the Terrors their first league loss in the process.

Sarah Chambers led the Lady Falcons with 17, while Rosalyn Page chipped in 13.

“This was a good, competitive basketball game,” said Coudersport coach Bob Tingley. “We got a little separation with our pressure in the second half, which is what ended up being the key to the game. They turned the ball over against our pressure.”

Those turnovers helped Coudy erase a five-point halftime deficit and outscore the Lady Terrors (5-2, 3-1) 26-14 over the game’s final 16 minutes.

Otto-Eldred didn’t have a player register double-digits, though Reilly Raught (9 points) and Morgan Dalton (8) led the Terror offense.
