SMETHPORT — A former Kane school van driver was sentenced Thursday in McKean County Court for allegations he kissed a student.
Carl A. Wilson Jr., 65, of Kane, will serve 18 months of probation for a charge of corruption of minors.
Court records filed at the time of his arrest indicated that on March 19, Wilson approached a 13-year-old girl in Mount Jewett, grabbed her around the waist, hugged her and kissed her on the lips. The incident frightened the girl, who walked away quickly from the area and stayed away from the bus stop area to avoid Wilson.
Also in court, Cheyenne E. Smith, 28, of East Smethport, will serve one year of probation for a charge of resisting arrest. According to court documents, on Aug. 4, Smith tried to prevent a Pennsylvania state trooper from arresting her after he had responded to a domestic incident at her home. During the incident, Smith admitted to punching the trooper and ripping his tie off.
Daniel J. Austin, 36, of Eldred, will serve 20 days to two years in McKean County Jail for a charge of DUI-general impairment and summary charges.
Darren M. Piechowicz, 33, of Orchard Park, N.Y., will serve four days to six months in McKean County Jail for charges of DUI-controlled substance and summary charges.
