Kristina Luzzi and Pam Rinfrette are on a mission — it’s called Molly’s Mission.
Luzzi explained that one of the VIP shoppers in hers and Rinfrette’s LuLaRoe business asked about doing a fundraiser that would benefit the YWCA of Bradford.
That woman was Molly Lewis. In Lewis’ memory, the two are forging ahead with her mission with the first-ever Molly’s Mission.
“She asked if we would discount our items and then ask the general public to purchase pieces of new clothing that would be donated to women of the YWCA programs,” Luzzi said. “To donate a brand new piece of clothing, all one has to do is donate $10. We will in turn donate these brand new retail items priced from $25 to $70 to the YWCA.”
Luzzi said the duo is doing this because the YWCA’s needs and mission are “near and dear to our hearts. We want to fulfill the mission Molly had of this kind gesture to help the women in our area on their path to a better life.”
Luzzi and Rinfrette first met Molly in 2017 when she was asked to be in the fashion show they were sponsoring. That show was set up to raise money and awareness for the YWCA.
“We became friends with her and her two best friends, Jodi and Doreen — the three amigos — over the course of the next year,” Luzzi said.
As their friendships grew so did Luzzi’s and Rinfrette’s business.
“Our business has morphed and grown into a community of women who shop together and support each other,” Luzzi said.
Then, Lewis suddenly passed away in January 2018.
“She left a young son and many family and friends who miss her dearly,” Luzzi said. “Her smile and love of life were contagious as well as her kind and generous nature.
“We are doing this in her memory to fulfill her vision.”
People have until Sunday to donate.
And although this is the inaugural event, it definitely won’t be the last one. Next year’s event will be under Luzzi and Rinfrette’s new business — Small Town Girl Boutique — that they launched Friday, Nov. 23.
“This is the inaugural event with plans to continue this each November,” Luzzi said. “All in Molly’s memory and mission.”
