KANE — A Ridgway man is in McKean County Jail on $100,000 bail for the alleged rape of a 10-year-old girl.
Michael M. Chittester, 26, of 3403 Grant St., is charged with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, all first-degree felonies; aggravated indecent assault, a second-degree felony; corruption of minors, a third-degree felony; indecent exposure, a first-degree misdemeanor; and indecent assault, a second-degree misdemeanor.
According to court records, on Oct. 6, at a camp in Hamilton Township, Chittester parked his truck and raped the girl. The victim was examined at the hospital, and her injuries were consistent with what she had told law enforcement, court records allege.
Chittester was arraigned Thursday before District Judge David Engman in Kane and remanded to jail. He is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing at 1 p.m. Nov. 5 before Engman.
