A home at 448 Wolf Run Road, Rew, was damaged by fire Thursday night.
No one was injured, said Assistant Fire Chief Mike McConnell of the Rew Volunteer Fire Department.
McConnell explained the fire was accidental in nature; it started when the homeowner was making repairs.
At 7:26 p.m. Thursday, firefighters were dispatched from Rew, the Hilltop Volunteer Fire Department in Cyclone and Bradford Township Volunteer Fire Department.
The rear of the structure sustained slight to moderate damage, and McConnell believes the family will be able to live in the home once repairs are made. The American Red Cross was notified and will be assisting.
Regarding putting out the blaze, McConnell said firefighters “really didn’t have any issues. Weather wasn’t a factor by any means.”
He reminded homeowners to “Use caution around open flames and insulation this time of year.”
