Rape charges against a Bradford man were bound to McKean County Court Wednesday, and an additional charge was added to the case.
Christopher R. Yohe, 28, was charged in June with rape by forcible compulsion and burglary, both first-degree felonies; sexual assault and aggravated indecent assault, both second-degree felonies; criminal trespassing, a third-degree felony; unlawful restraint, a first-degree misdemeanor; and indecent assault, a second-degree misdemeanor.
An additional charge of burglary, a first-degree felony, has since been added, court records indicate.
A preliminary hearing was held Wednesday before District Judge Richard Luther.
According to the criminal complaint, on June 14, the alleged victim was in a home in Foster Township getting ready to wash dishes, when she received a phone call from Yohe. He told her he wanted to see her; the victim then found out he was already in the house.
She told him to leave, but he refused; instead, he pinned her arms down under his knees, took off some of her clothing and sexually assaulted her, court records stated.
Yohe remains incarcerated in McKean County Jail in lieu of $135,000 bail.
Bradford man charged with making threats
A Bradford man is facing charges after an alleged neighbor dispute on South Avenue in Bradford Township.
Brodrick P. Newman, 50, was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Richard Luther on charges of terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor; simple assault, a second-degree misdemeanor; and summary charges of harassment and disorderly conduct.
According to the criminal complaint, at 7:26 p.m. June 7, Bradford Township Police were dispatched to 666 South Ave. for a report that a man was dumping dirt on Newman’s driveway; police did not find debris in the driveway.
The man told police that he was cleaning the ditch of debris and replacing concrete that Newman had removed, when Newman came down the driveway to confront the man about the ditchwork. Newman allegedly made threats, such as saying “I’m going to kill you,” then punched the man in the chest, the complaint stated.
The man then pulled his shirt down to show Newman that he punched him in the location of an implanted pacemaker, court records stated.
Newman was released on $15,000 unsecured bail, and a preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 24.
Two burglary cases against Bradford man bound to court
All charges except one in two burglary cases against a Bradford man were bound to McKean County Court.
Daniel R. Vargas, 27, appeared for two preliminary hearings Wednesday: one before District Judge Dominic Cercone and one before District Judge Richard Luther.
Bound over in one case were four counts of receiving stolen property, all second-degree felonies; and in the second case were charges of burglary, a first-degree felony; conspiracy to commit criminal trespassing, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, all third-degree felonies.
Withdrawn was a second-degree felony charge of criminal trespassing, court records stated.
According to a criminal complaint in the case, on June 16, Vargas entered someone’s home by temporarily disengaging the lock on the door. Once inside the home, he allegedly removed a safe that he knew contained between $4,000 and $5,000. The victim in the case had surveillance footage that showed it was Vargas who had broken in and taken the safe, the complaint alleged.
In the second case, Vargas is charged with selling four guns that didn’t belong to him to a firearms dealer for cash. The guns had been stolen from a Bradford residence, according to the criminal complaint.
Vargas is in McKean County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
