There were more than just students at the Port Allegany High School on Friday.
McKean County District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer said at the request of the district’s administration, the drug task force and its K-9 officer “conducted a sweep of Port Allegany High School and parking lot.”
Shaffer said no drugs were found during the sweep.
“Keeping drugs out of our school systems is a priority and sweeps by a drug-sniffing dog are one tool to do that,” she said. “Early drug use can lead to risk-taking behaviors and life-long addiction.”
