SMETHPORT — A Bradford man accused of entering a home to rob the occupant was sentenced Thursday in McKean County Court.
Lee M. Gourley, 33, will serve four to eight years in state prison for a charge of criminal attempt-robbery by threat of immediate serious injury, a first-degree felony.
Gourley pleaded guilty to the charge on March 15 before President Judge John Pavlock. District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer explained that day that on Oct. 20, Gourley entered a Cornen Street home with the intent to rob the occupant of money and narcotics.
At Thursday’s hearing, Shaffer noted that Gourley has a significant criminal record. He was on parole at the time of the robbery and will likely be revoked, she added.
The only request defense attorney Christopher Martini made was that Gourley be able to have contact with one of the victims, a relative of Gourley, if she asks for it. Pavlock granted the request.
Gourley did not made a statement on his own behalf.
