The 48th annual Bradford USBC Youth Affiliate Association Banquet was held on Sunday, Mar. 25. Awards were presented for the annual Junior City Tournament, The Betty Dougherty Scholarship Tournament.
The Junior Team event was held on Jan. 6-7. There are three classes based on average with 10 total teams. Winning the Class A division was The Pininators shooting a 2546 total. Members include Brady Ervin, Jaydon Warnick, Michael Greenberg, and Tripp Hoover. Winning the Class B division was Team 7 with an 2049 total. Team members include Dylon Ingersoll, Patrick Gates, Brett Skaggs, and Bart Snyder. The Class C was won by Cooper and the Girls. Team members are Cooper Anderson, Maranda Davis, Irie Rose, and Megan Smith. They totaled a 1583. These three teams have advanced to the PA State Youth Tournament being held in Pittsburgh on Apr. 14-15.
Individual winners in the Junior Team event for high scratch series are Prep Girl Jaylee Koppenhaver 481, Prep Boy Dylon Ingersoll 475, Junior Girl Abby Irvin 489, Junior Boy Zander Koppenhaver 700, Major Girl Cameron Spring 607, and Major Boy Xander Edstrom 665.
Single High game winners in the Team event include Prep Girl Maranda Davis 128, Prep Boy Cooper Anderson 99, Junior Boy Austen Davis 235, Major Girl Lily Lewis 190, and Major Boy Brandon Milanowski 269.
The Junior Singles and Doubles event was held Feb. 3-4. Winning scores include handicap. Prep Girl Megan Smith 765, Prep Boy Dylon Ingersoll 737, Junior Boy William Snyder 746, Major Girl Cameron Spring 695, and Major Boy Derrick Mangel 739.
Individual scratch trophies for the Singles event include scratch series winners Prep Girl Jaylee Koppenhaver 496, Prep Boy Cooper Anderson 285, Junior Boy Zander Koppenhaver 652, Major Girl Emily Snyder 456, and Major Boy Xander Edstrom 683.
Individual scratch trophies for the high single game in the Singles event include Prep Girl Sarrah Cox 178, Prep Boy Hayden Yanik 99, Junior Boy Austen Davis 219, Major Girl Lily Lewis 168, and Major Boy Thomas Lemieux 224.
The Doubles Event has just three divisions, Girls, Boys, and Mixed. The Girls division was won by Maranda Davis and Megan Smith with a 1456 total. The Boys division was won by Jaydon Warnick and Tripp Hoover with a 1446, and the Mixed division was won by Irie Rose and Cooper Anderson with a 1451.
Individual trophies for the Girl Doubles event are Jaylee Koppenhaver high series with a 495 and Maranda Davis high game with a 138. In the Boys doubles division was Austen Davis 695 high series and Tripp Hoover 269 high game. Leading the Mixed division was Xander Edstrom 637 high series and Austen Davis 221 high game.
The 2018 Betty Dougherty Scholarship Tournament was held on Mar. 3-4. This is a two-day 6-game event where the local Youth association gives out four $500 scholarships to eligible junior bowlers in 9th to 12th grade. This year’s winners are: Cameron Spring in the Girls scratch division, Lily Lewis in the Girls handicap division, Zander Koppenhaver in the Boys scratch division and Austin Reyes in the Boys handicap division.
2018 Senior Class Honorees are: Jerahmy Flick, Derrick Mangel, and Austin Reyes.
Winners and advancers of the District 4 Pepsi Tournament were announced. Under 12 Girl 2nd place was Jaylee Koppenhaver, Under 12 Boy 3rd place was Dylon Ingersoll, Under 15 Boys second place was Tripp Hoover, 4th place was Zander Koppenhaver and fifth place Austen Davis, Under 17 Girl winner was Cameron Spring, and Under 20 Boy second place was Xander Edstrom. All bowlers listed above advance to the State Pepsi Tournament to be held on May 5-6 in Reading.
The final award presented at the banquet was the Bruce Therminy Sportsmanship award. The winners this year were Derrick Mangel and Austen Reyes.
