St. Marys outlasts Coudersport; Cam County tops Hubbers

ST. MARYS — A game that saw three different players hit 30 points ended with an upset win for the St. Marys boys, as the Dutch defeated North Tier League Champion Coudersport 83-81 in a non-league shootout on Wednesday.

Nate Schneider’s 36 points were enough to lead St. Marys to victory. After leading by as many as 10 points in the fourth quarter, the Dutch were able to hold off a late Coudersport rally to seal the win.

The Falcons got a pair of great performances from Owen Chambers and Jared Green, who scored 31 and 30 points, respectively in the losing effort.

Jared Groll (12 points) and Anthony Cortina (10) also finished in double figure for St. Marys (12-9).

Coudersport finishes the regular season with a record of 19-3 heading into next week’s district playoffs.

    Cameron County 53, Smethport 31

EMPORIUM — The Red Raiders held the Hubbers to just 11 first-half points en route to a convincing regular season-ending victory.

Adam Shaffer led Cameron County with a game-high 16 points, while Dino Brown and Caden Beldin both finished 11 points.

Eric Szarowicz led Smethport with eight points.

Cameron County finishes the regular season 16-5 overall and 13-3 in NTL play. Smethport (11-10, 9-6) will be back in action today when it travels to Galeton.
