SHINGLEHOUSE — Abbey Woodard scored 37 points to help Smethport defeat Oswayo Valley 70-54 on Thursday and snap a three-game winless streak.

Shayla Bickel also had a big night offensively, scoring 29 points for OV. Faith Coole (13) and Karina West (10) also finished in double figures for the Green Wave.

“Smethport’s a very well-coached team,” OV coach Kelly Rice said. “We just didn’t have an answer for Woodard, who’s a tremendous player.”

Smethport (6-13 overall, 5-10 NTL) hosts Port Allegany on Tuesday. Oswayo Valley (6-14, 2-12) will travel to Coudersport on Tuesday.
