SMETHPORT — Oswayo Valley improved to 5-4 on the season with a 45-12 victory over Smethport on Thursday.
OV received victories from Quintyn Howard (forfeit), Dylan Pesock (forfeit), Brandyn DeLong (pin), Colton Getiler (pin), Isaiah Barney (pin), William Russell (pin), Simon Couls (forfeit) and Steven Longworthy (decision).
Smethport, meanwhile, got victories from Bradeon Johnson (pin), and Shayne Westfall (forfeit).
Smethport fell to 2-8 with the loss, and plays next on Saturday.
“We were five kids down tonight with injuries,” Smethport coach Marshall Sunk said. “Both teams had to bump around to get some matches. Oswayo Valley has a good team. Our guys gave 100 percent effort but it wasn’t enough tonight.”

SHEFFIELD — The Red Raiders earned their first victory of the season (1-4) on Thursday by defeating the Wolverines on the road.
Cameron County’s victories came courtesy of Ethan Fields (forfeit), Wendell O’Brien (pin), Caleb Pifer (forfeit), Devin Geitner (forfeit), Ryan Philcote (pin), Devin Palumbo (decision), and Nate Palumbo (pin).
On the other side, Jessie Rivera (forfeit), Ethan Finch (forfeit), and Kyle Rivera (pin) won for Sheffield.
Cameron County will visit Port Allegany on Monday.
