Coudy puts up 98 against Gators

COUDERSPORT — The Coudersport and Port Allegany boys had a close game going for about a quarter, with the two teams tied 22-22 after one. But it was all Coudy the rest of the way, as the Falcons rolled to a 98-42 victory in North Tier League action on Monday.

The duo of Owen Chambers and Jared Green outscored the Gators on their own, with Chambers pouring in a game-high 35 points and Green adding 25 of his own.

Howie Stuckey hit five 3-pointers to lead the Gators with 24 points.

Both teams will be back in action on Wednesday: Coudersport (11-1 overall, 9-0 NTL) visits Northern Potter; Port Allegany (2-11 overall, 1-7 NTL) hosts Cameron County.

    Smethport 64, Northern Potter 42

SMETHPORT — The Hubbers held the Panthers to just 11 first-half points en route to a big NTL victory on Monday.

Caleb Lutz and Brandon Peterson led Smethport with 16 and 14 points, respectively, while Ian Woodruff finished with 12 points and six rebounds.

“In a game like this, we just made some shots and got to the free throw line,” Smethport coach Jay Acker said. “We also played pretty good defense. It was a good team effort.”

Holden Cowburn led Northern Potter with 16 points.

Smethport (9-5 overall, 7-2 NTL) will host Austin on Friday, while Northern Potter (0-13 overall, 0-9 NTL) hosts Coudersport on Wednesday.

Cameron County 51, Oswayo Valley 44

EMPORIUM — Adam Shaffer’s game-high 27 points were enough to lead the Red Raiders past the Green Wave on Monday for a big NTL victory.
Shaffer hit 11 field goals in the game, including four 3-pointers. Meanwhile, Marcus Brown pulled down 11 rebounds.

Theo Henry (18 points) and Garren Black (10) both finished in double figures for Oswayo Valley.

Both teams will play their next game against Port Allegany: Cameron County (10-2 overall, 8-1 NTL) will visit the Gators on Wednesday, while Oswayo Valley (8-6 overall, 4-4 NTL) hosts Port A on Friday.

    Otto-Eldred 51, Galeton 39

DUKE CENTER — Otto-Eldred used a big second quarter to move to 7-5 on the year with Monday’s NTL win.

The Terrors outscored the Tigers 23-8 in the second frame to pull away.

“We shot the ball very well in the second quarter,” O-E coach Dan Dalton said.

Sawyer Drummond notched a double-double for Otto, finishing with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Meanwhile, Dylan Close finished with nine points, eight assists, and six rebounds.

Isaiah Shuemaker hit six 3-pointers to finish with a game-high 18 points for Galeton.

Otto-Eldred (7-5 overall, 4-4 NTL) travels to Austin on Wednesday. Galeton (3-8 overall, 2-5 NTL) hosts Smethport on Wednesday.
