SMETHPORT (EC) — The Smethport Fire Department responded to a reported land rescue Tuesday afternoon at Emerald Isle just off East Water Street.

The initial call said that a person was trapped under a motorcycle, but when firefighters arrived at the scene, Smethport Borough employees, who are firemen, had already freed the person. Reports from the scene indicated the person suffered minor abrasions.

Also responding were the Smethport Fire Police, Smethport Police Department, McKean County Sheriff’s Department and Ambulance 16.
