A Bradford man was arrested Thursday afternoon for allegations that he was trespassing at School Street Elementary School.
Alfred E. Caraffa Jr., 46, of 350 E. Main St., Apt. 5, was arraigned Thursday afternoon before District Judge Dominic Cercone on one charge of defiant trespass, a first-degree misdemeanor, court records stated.
According to court records, on Thursday, a Bradford City police officer spotted Caraffa near the elementary school, despite the fact that was served with papers stating he was not to be on property of the Bradford Area School District.
Multiple officers went to the area, where they allegedly found Caraffa standing on the corner of Pleasant and North Center streets. He told them that he received the letter, but he thought it only applied to Bradford Area High School and not the district’s other properties, court records stated.
The letter was written by Superintendent Katharine Pude and personally delivered to Caraffa by School Resource Officer Steve Green, court records stated.
Caraffa was committed to McKean County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail, and he is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
