PORT ALLEGANY — The S.W. Smith Memorial Public Library is participating in the Pennsylvania Lumber Museum library pass program.
This pass provides free entry to the museum and its events, programs, and activities for the library-card holder and members of his/her household. Restrictions apply for certain dates/events. Patrons can come into the library and check out the pass for one week.
“The Pennsylvania Lumber Museum educates the public about the Commonwealth’s rich lumbering history and the ongoing care, management, and recreational use of its forests. Visitors are encouraged to explore the museum’s working historic saw mill, recreated lumber camp, exhibits, public programs and collections to discover the relevance of history in their lives,” reads the museum’s website lumbermuseum.org.
The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is located at 5560 US Route 6 in Potter County between Coudersport and Galeton.
