Fire destroyed four vehicles and damaged two others behind Tuna Valley Towing on 156 Seaward Ave. Wednesday.
The Bradford City Fire Department was dispatched at 1:45 p.m. for the report of a vehicle fire and arrived to find flames had spread to multiple vehicles, Bradford City Fire Lt. Mike Campogiani said. Small explosions were also reported at the scene.
Campogiani attributes the cause to a Tuna Valley Towing employee cutting apart one of the vehicles with a chop saw. All of the vehicles were to be taken to a junkyard and sold for scrap, he said.
Bradford City Police responded and closed off Seaward Avenue at the bottom of Constitution Avenue.
No one was injured, and no other vehicle or nearby buildings were damaged. No citations were issued against owner Chris Magee, Campogiani said.
The fire department was on scene for about an hour and 15 minutes.
