Friends and citizens of Bradford for years, Glo Loupold and two of her friends are prepared to enjoy the coming warm weather in relaxing style, right on Main Street.
On Friday, the trio took in some sunshine, a welcome respite from the snow in recent weeks.
The high temperatures will continue in the coming days, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms today with a high in the 70s, said David Martin with the National Weather Service. For Sunday, there will be a cold front late in the day with a high in the upper 60s. Monday will be sunny with a high in the 60s.
“I hope they never take away Veteran Square,” Loupold said, sitting next to her friends on the corner of Main Street and South Avenue.
Her friend Joan, who didn’t give her last name, shared similar sentiments.
“We don’t have to go far from here to find enjoyment. They have concerts right here, in the gazebo,” she said.
Dirt biking is what Mike McLaughlin and a few others have in mind for the summer.
“I usually go up near Petrolia and Sanford Street because it’s legal to ride up here,” McLaughlin said. “Today is the first day of the spring that I can go out on my dirtbike. I’m really excited.”
In times of really warm weather, one woman said make plans to go camping at High Banks, a campground in Steamburg, N.Y.
Also on Friday, Echo Tucker stopped for an interview The Era, saying that she was excited to talk about her plans to go four-wheeling.
“I usually go up by the river. And the days I’m not on my four-wheeler, I plan on going to Hanley Park,” she said. “There’s a skate park there, and I really like watching people do tricks on the ramps.”
