    Wrestling roundup: Green Wave succomb to J’burg’s pins; Gators top CC

     Tyler Watts, Joey Elinski and Christian Krug helped Johnsonburg hold on for a 34-32 decision over Oswayo Valley in their Allegheny Mountain Wrestling League match on Thursday.

    Watts (16-9) got his fall at 152, Elinski (10-6) recorded his pin at 170 and Krug’s fall came at 145.

    The Rams, now 4-2 in the AMWL, also got bonus points from Josh Sorg with a major decision at 120.

    “We knew coming in we needed to collect all the bonus points we could get and not give up any,” said Mike Votano, Johnsonburg coach. “All our guys performed well and I’m proud of the way they wrestled. it was a great team win.”

    Johnsonburg’s top wrestler record-wise is Devon Norlin with a 19-7 mark.

    Leading the Green Wave were Grant West with a pin at 182, Isaiah Barney with a fall at 138 and Dylan Pesock with a tech fall at 113.

    Johnsonburg returns to action Thursday at home with Kane.

    170 – Joey Elinski (J) pinned Nate Shroyer, 2:19

    182 – Grant West (OV) pinned Matt Berger, 34 seconds

    195 – No match

    220 – Mike Vandergrift (OV) won by forfeit

    HWT – William Morrison (OV) decisioned Zac Hodgdon, 3-1

    Port Allegany 62,

    Cameron County 6

    EMPORIUM — Port Allegany got pins from Eli Petruzzi, Isaac Smoker and Wayne Shelley, plus 36 points from forfeits, to defeat Cameron County.

    Petruzzi’s pin came at 132, Smoker’s at 138 and Shelley’s at 170.

    Port’s Jake Kallenborn picked up bonus points for the Gators with a tech fall at 160.

    Cameron County avoided the shutout with Tim Hasselmen receiving a forfeit at heavyweight.

    The Red Raiders (1-6) host Coudersport next Tuesday.

    138 – Isaac Smoker (PA) pinned Albert Hanes, 41 seconds

    145 – Devin Smoker (PA) on by forfeit

    160 – Jake Kallenborn (PA) won by tech fall over Josh Summers, 15-0

    170 – Wayne Shelley (PA) pinned Caleb Pifer, 2:30

    182 – Robert Arnett (PA) won by forfeit
