Port Allegany 70, Northern Potter 42
PORT ALLEGANY — Brandon McCaslin tied a career high with 29 points and Port Allegany bounced back from its loss to Coudersport earlier this week by rolling past Northern Potter 70-42 on Friday in their North Tier League game.
McCaslin led all scorers in the game and his points included an 8-of-11 night at the freethrow stripe.
“Brandon drives to the basket and goes to the foul line a lot. He’s real solid there,” said Jeff Stuckey, Port Allegany coach.
The Gators had a solid offensive attack with three other players putting double digit point totals in the book. Supporting McCaslin were David Talkington with 14 points, Howie Stuckey with 11 and Jordan Bell with 10 tallies.
“Tonight we got our balanced scoring back,” Coach Stuckey pointed out. “After the loss to Coudersport, which stopped our win streak, we’re back on track. Everyone passed the ball around and that’s the reason why we’ve had balanced scoring this season.”
Port Allegany led by three points at the end of the first quarter, 11-8, and then took control of the game with a 25-point second period and 36-16 advantage at halftime.
High scorer for NoPo was Tucker Kosa with 21 points.
