COUDERSPORT, Pa. — The Cole Memorial Medical Group welcomes a new obstetrician and gynecologist, Dr. Ahmad Awada, to the Women’s Health Center located in the hospital’s Irwin Medical Arts Center at 1001 E. Second St. He began accepting new patients on February 8.
Awada joins Cole Memorial’s current OB/Gyn, Dr. Mazen Fouany, his colleague and past classmate at George Washington University’s Obstetrics and Gynecology Department in Washington, D.C.
“I’ve worked with Dr. Awada for several years in the Washington, D.C. area and he’s wonderful, knowledgeable, caring and a great surgeon,” said Fouany, recipient of 2015’s Top Doctor in Obstetrics & Gynecology from the Leading Physicians of the World, a subsidiary of the International Association of HealthCare Professionals. “I’m glad he is joining Cole Memorial as he’s a great addition to our medical staff.”
Awada received his medical degree from the American University of Beirut before completing his OB/GYN residency at the George Washington University Medical Center, where he won multiple awards in recognition for his medical knowledge and surgical skills, including laparoscopy. In addition, Awada worked at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, Va., and Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Md.
“We are pleased that Dr. Awada is part of our Women’s Health team,” said Cole’s Regional Health Center director, Lori Gross. “He and Dr. Fouany are eager to strengthen our services by providing the best women’s health care in our region.”
