BROCKPORT, N.Y. (AP) — Police say a body recovered from the Erie Canal is that of a 23-year-old College at Brockport student.
Police in the Monroe County village of Brockport say the young man had jumped into the canal on the school’s campus to go swimming. His body was recovered by Monroe County Sheriff’s Office divers early Sunday morning.
Police would not release any information on the cause of death, and declined to give the victim’s name, saying the family had asked for it to be withheld.
