Boys Basketball
Smethport 60, Oswayo Valley 48
Nothing new for the Hubbers, as they won their 15th straight game.
What may be overlooked about this team is its defense. They held an Oswayo Valley squad that scored 85 points earlier this week to just 48.
Zach Smith had another big game, scoring 28 points, the sixth time this season he has scored at least that many in a game.
Clay Schuler had 13 points and five assists for Smethport, which is now 16-1 overall, 10-0 NTL.
Spencer Howard had 18 points for OV (10-8, 6-4), which has lost two-straight.
Cameron County 62, Northern Potter 37
The Red Raiders did a great job bouncing back after a hard-fought loss to Smethport earlier this week.
Nate Sestina posted another double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Tyler Wigfield and Dylan Clingan were also in doubles for Cameron County, with 15 and 13 respectively.
CCHS has won seven of eight and is now 13-4 overall, 8-2 in the NTL.
Coudersport 61, Austin 45
The Falcons (13-4, 7-3) aren’t going to wow you with anything they do, but are a very well-rounded team.
Jason Bertrand led the way with 15 points and Mitch Freeman finished with 11 and John Michael Rigas 10.
Coudersport has now won 9 of its last 11 games.
Ben Clark was in double figures for the 10th straight game for Austin with 19 points.
Port Allegany 57, Otto-Eldred 40
The Gators jumped out to a 24-6 lead in this one and never trailed.
Matt Bodamer had 16 points, Jordan Seefeldt 15 and Logan Stuckey 11 for Port A., which improved to 8-7 overall, 5-5 in the NTL.
