Bradford 64, DuBois 36
The Lady Owls had no trouble going on the road for their ninth-straight win. Bradford got 23 points from Kaserra Owens, 17 from Ali Rinfrette and 14 rebounds from Alex Vinelli. There may not be a better collective group of players in the entire district.
Owens now has 825 career points.
Port Allegany 61, Sheffield 37
The Lady Gators had no problems winning their eight-straight game, jumping out to a 22-8 first-quarter lead. Becca Lathrop was once again in double figures with 16 points and Gabby Drabert had 11.
Bucktail 60, Austin 50
Despite the loss, Kaylee Brooks recorded a career-high 21 points and Hannah Glover added 16.
Kane 57, Brookville 41
The 11-2 Lady Wolves responded after a tough loss to Bradford with a 16-point win over the Lady Raiders. In doing so, they limited the Newsome sisters, Brookville’s top-two scorers, to just 13 points combined.
Kaila Jamerson once again led Kane with 16 points and Audrey Perry added 12.
Boys Basketball
Bradford 40, DuBois 38
The Owls resurgence has been impressive. They won their fourth-straight game behind a 9-0 fourth quarter run and 15 points from Mike Wilber. They will get a chance to even their record at 7-7 , hosting a tough Punxsutawney team Friday.
Port Allegany 44, Sheffield 38
Rickie Bova made 7-of-8 free throws in the fourth quarter and Matt Bodamer scored 17 points as the Gators held off Sheffield.
Port, after an extended football season, is continuing to get better with each game.
Coudersport 45, Galeton 32
After an uncharacteristically off night scoring against Oswayo Valley, John Michael Rigas responded with a 15-point effort in helping the Falcons outlast Galeton. They led by just one at the start of the fourth quarter, but went on a 20-8 run to close the game.
