GIRLS BASKETBALL
Bradford 53, Kane 40
Kane gave the Lady Owls all they could handle in this matchup of 10-1 teams. The Lady Wolves made it a halfcourt game for nearly three quarters, forcing Bradford to grind out possessions.
Audrey Perry and Kaila Jamerson were effective for Kane getting second chance points against the smaller Lady Owls.
Bradford, however, showed why they have so good, winning a game against a quality opponent without playing their best.
Haley Vinelli had one of her best game’s of the season offensively and the backcourt of Ali Rinfrette and Kaserra Owens were able to generate scoring chances off of steals that helped key Bradford’s second half surge.
In the end, this is a game that will help both teams tremendously.
PORT ALLEGANY 55, CAMERON COUNTY 30
Behind a season-high 18 points from guard Somer Buchsenschutz and another double-double from Becca Lathrop, the Lady Gators cruised to their seventh-straight win.
Brooke Dunsmore tried to keep Cameron County in the game, scoring 17 of the Lady Red Raiders’ 30 points, but Port was able to pull away in the third quarter.
Port Allegany continues to show its balance as the season goes on and is a big reason why they sit atop the NTL standings with Coudersport.
