Beckwith, Kellogg added to Raabe Classic roster

A pair of Otto-Eldred High School football players highlights
today’s additions to the Don Raabe Big 30 Charities Classic
Pennsylvania roster.

Mark Beckwith and Logan Kellogg of O-E join Zane Zelehoski of
Johnsonburg as the Pennsylvania additions.

Beckwith, 5-9, 170 pounds, was a tight end and outside
linebacker for the Terrors.

He plans to attend Slippery Rock University and major in
secondary education and mathematics with a minor in physics or
chemistry.

Beckwith’s honors include being the class valedictorian,
basketball defensive MVP and track and field MVP.

“This was my first year to play football and I regret not
playing in the past,” Beckwith noted. “Football became a new
passion of mine, and now I get to enjoy it for one more game.”

Kellogg, 5-10, 140 pounds, was a running back and defensive
back.

He plans to attend college to major in elementary education and
minor in coaching.

Kellogg’s honors include being named outstanding underclassmen
and most improved in football his junior year.

He wants to play in the Classic because it is a “once in a
lifetime deal and it is one more time to play.”

His biggest football thrill is hitting people and getting
hit.

Zelehoski, 5-9, 185 pounds, was a running back/linebacker for
the Rams.

Zelehoski plans on attending a four-year university, majoring in
pre-med.

His honors include winning the District 9 Class AA 100-meter
dash title, the Kane Invitational 100-meter title, winning the 100,
200 and 4×100 relay at the Elk County Meet, a two-time AML All-Star
at running back, Beast of the Northeast middleweight champion and a
member of the National Honor Society.

“I want to play in the Big 30 Game to have the opportunity to
play one last high school football game,” he said. “High school
football was the most memorable time of my life, and to play one
more game would mean the world to me.”

Zelehoski’s biggest thrill was “every single hit that I made and
took because ever since I was little I loved contact and
confrontation.”

Named to the New York roster are Rigel Johnson of
Cattaraugus-Little Valley, Kevin O’Laughlin of Olean Walsh and
James Irwin of Franklinville.

Johnson, 5-11, 165 pounds, was a kicker/punter for C-LV.

He plans to attend college and either play soccer or kick for a
football team.

His honors include being selected to Big 30 football and soccer
teams, league defensive MVP for soccer, NYS Sportswriters
Association third-team All-Star for soccer, Top 10 in his class and
vice president of the National Honor Society. In addition, he has
achieved advanced mathematics, English and history honors.

Johnson wants to play in the Classic because “I know people who
have done it before and it looks like a fun experience.”

Johnson’s biggest thrill came when his team won the DD Bowl over
Frewsburg.

O’Laughlin, 6-1, 165 pounds, was a wide receiver, quarterback
and defensive back for Olean Walsh.

He plans to go to college to possibly play basketball and major
in marketing and business.

O’Laughlin’s honors include High Honor Roll, basketball league
MVP, Team MVP and second-team All-Conference in football.

“It’s an historic game and I have watched them (Raabe Classics)
the last couple of years,” he said. “I want to beat
Pennsylvania.”

Kick returning against state-ranked Cardinal O’Hara and having
four touchdowns in a homecoming win were his biggest football
thrills.

Irwin, 5-10, 175 pounds, was a wide receiver, wing back and
defensive back for Franklinville.

Irwin plans on going into the criminal justice field.

He wants to play in the Classic because “I love football and it
is the last time I get a chance to play high school ball.”

His biggest football thrill is “hitting people.”

In his free time Irwin enjoys hunting.
