Bradford Highs Rob Gault highlights six more players added to
the 33rd annual Big 30 Don Raabe Charities Classic rosters.
Gault was a 5-7, 190-pound guard and linebacker for the
Owls.
He is a member of Student Council and was a student of the
month. He received the coachs award and was a captain of the
football team.
It is a great honor to play in the Big 30 Game because it is the
best players in the area playing in a game, said Gault.
His biggest thrill was upsetting Warren on senior night because
they were a playoff team.
Gault will major in communications at Pitt-Bradford. His hobbies
are playing sports, fishing and camping. The Jacksonville Jaguars
is his favorite team and Byron Leftwich his favorite player.
Also joining Gault is Sam Kephart from Port Allegany High
School. Kephart was a 5-9, 185-pound guard and linebacker for the
Gators.
When asked why he wanted to play in the Big 30 Game, he said, I
enjoy playing football.
His biggest thrill is being on the field with his friends.
Kepharts plans are to enter the work force. His hobbies include
playing sports, fishing and four-wheeling. The Buffalo Bills is his
favorite team and Takeo Spikes his favorite player.
The third Pennsy player added is Casey Rickerson of Youngsville.
He was a 5-8, 180-pound tailback and linebacker for the Eagles.
He received the coachs pride award for football and was
offensive MVP. He was also on the all-star second team and received
varsity letters for football, track and baseball.
Rickerson wants to play in the Big 30 Game because it is an
honor and privilege of getting a second chance on the football
field.
His biggest thrills were breaking long runs and helping the
team.
He will study safety and security at Pittsburgh Technical
Institute. His hobbies are hunting, fishing and playing the guitar.
His favorite team is the Pittsburgh Steelers and his favorite
player is Jerome Bettis.
Additions to the New York roster included Derrick Dorvit, Tyler
Dunne and Trae Rogers.
Dorvit, from Bolivar-Richburg Central School, was a 6-0,
180-pound tight end and defensive end for the Wolverines.
He was an Expressway All-Star, Livingston County All-Star, a
football captain and was a Steuben All-Star in wrestling.
When asked why he wanted to play in the Big 30 Game he said, It
has always been a goal of mine to play with the best players in the
Big 30. It is an honor.
He says his biggest thrills are running out on the field on
Friday night with the stands packed and playing Wolverine
football.
He will be a health and physical education major at Edinboro
University.
His hobbies are riding horses, golfing, hanging out with friends
and lifting weights. His favorite team is the Dallas Cowboys while
Jay Novacek is his favorite player.
Dunne, of Ellicottville Central School, was a 5-10, 185-pound
quarterback and safety for the Eagles.
He is a member of the National Honor Society, a Scholar Athlete
and ranks in the top five of his class. Football honors include
third-team all-state and first team Class D East League. In
basketball he was a first-team Cattaraugus County Division III
selection.
I want to play in the Big 30 Game because it will be great to
play football on the same field where I played midget football and
to see my football career come full circle, Dunne said.
His biggest football thrills were reaching Ralph Wilson Stadium
three years in a row, winning the sectional title once and the
comeback win at Franklinville his junior year.
Dunne will major in journalism at St. John Fisher or Syracuse
University. He enjoys playing fantasy football, sports writing and
four-wheeling. The Green Bay Packers is his favorite team and their
quarterback Bret Favre his favorite player.
Rogers, from Randolph Central School, was a 6-2, 190-pound
quarterback and free safety for the Cardinals.
His academic achievements include the National Honor Society,
Honor Roll and Scholar Athlete. He was Offensive MVP in the New
York State Semifinal game, a Jamestown (N.Y.) Post Journal Player
of the Week and first-team quarterback for Class D Section 6.
Rogers says he wants to play in the Big 30 Game simply for the
love of the game.
His biggest thrill was winning the Class D New York State
Championship.
He is considering forensics, computer science or sports medicine
for his education. His hobbies are football, basketball and golf.
While the Buffalo Bills is his favorite team, Peyton Manning is his
favorite player.
This years game will take place at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 5 at Bradford
Highs Parkway Field. The game pits graduated seniors from
Pennsylvania against graduated seniors from New York.
This weeks additions bring the total number of players accepting
invitations to play in this years game to 78 39 per side.
Media day will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Pitt-Bradfords
Sport and Fitness center.
