Rob and Mike Kemick of Bradford brought in a two-day total
combined weight of 21.32 pounds to win the Kinzua Allegheny Walleye
Association Disabled American Veterans tournament Saturday and
Sunday on the Kinzua Reservoir.
The Kemicks also caught the big fish Sunday with a weight of
7.64 pounds, the largest walleye ever brought into the scales of
any fishing tournament on the Kinzua Reservoir.
“A lot of pre-fishing and some luck was the key to our success,”
the Kemick brothers said. “We caught our fish jigging in about 10
feet of water.”
A total of 87 teams entered the tournament.
The tournament paid out the top 10 teams with the most weight
combined in the two days of fishing.
Earning second place were Mark and Andrew Terwilliger of
Bradford (15.90 pounds), third place went to DeWayne Cawley and
Steve Colley of Bradford (14.86), fourth place to Carl Stoltz of
Bradford and Jim Stoltz of Limestone, N.Y. (14.46), fifth place to
William Acklin and Jim Connolly of Warren (13.96), sixth place to
Len Lauffenburger of Pittsfield and Greg Leofsky of Youngsville
(13.94), seventh place to Doug Yohe and Darrin Pound of Bradford
(13.88), eighth place to Tom Means and Sue Wilcox of Bradford
(13.64), ninth place to Michael Maholic and Brandon Sluga of
Bradford (13.58) and 10th place to Rob and Nancy Stewart of
Smicksburgh (13.28).
