COUDERSPORT -ðA Genesee woman was killed in a two-vehicle
accident at 3:30 p.m. Saturday on Route 49 at its intersection with
Kidney Road.

According to Coudersport-based state police, a car driven by Ila
M. Smith, 65, of Genesee, was northbound on Kidney Road when it
approached the intersection and then traveled across Route 49,
pulling into the path of a vehicle driven by Dustin T. Crosby, 27,
of Coudersport.

Both vehicles left the north side of the road and went into a
bank.

Smith was pronounced dead about 3:45 p.m. by the Potter County
Coroner’s office, which ruled the official cause of death as “blunt
force trauma.”

Crosby was not injured. Both vehicles were towed from the scene,
police said.

The Tri-County Fire Department and ambulance assisted at the
scene.
