RTS for Saturday

1-2-3-4-5-6: Wrong again. It’s OK; we’re used to it.

You may recall that we told readers of a supposedly unique event
which occurred just after 1 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006. At that
moment, the time would have been: 01:02:03 04/05/06.

We were right about that but had gone on to say. “That won’t
ever happen again.”

Andy Brodis corrects us, big time, noting the identical readout
would have occurred exactly 12 hours later. “And it will also
happen again twice every 1000 years.”

He went on to note that, in Europe, they display day/month/year
as opposed to how we do it, month/day/year.

“Therefore next month on May 4th, it will happen twice over
there! 01:02:03 04/05/06.”

We also heard from Ken Greek: “Never happen again? Yes, the time
and date ‘sequence in order’ will happen again for the next seven
years:

“03:04:05 06/07/08

04:05:06 07/08/09

05:06:07 08/09/10

06:07:08 09/10/11

07:08:09 10/11/12

08:09:10 11/12/13

09:10:11 12/13/14.”

We stand corrected.

TOM McANDREW: Richard McAndrew of Bradford writes, “I just
wanted to mention that I was surprised that no one has said
anything about another Police Officer with the local Police
Department. His name was Tom (Hap) McAndrew. He worked from 1934 to
1952. He and his brothers also were members of the Kiwanis Minstrel
shows before it became the ‘Kapers.'”

THAT AWARD: Barbara Kimbrough of Kane adds some pertinent
details concerning a recent news story: “I read the recent article
in The Bradford Era concerning the Eagle scout who helped to save a
woman after a car accident. Toward the end of the article there was
mention of Earl Strait who received the Medal of Merit from the
National Boy Scouts for helping to save a young scout who had a
heat stroke.”

“The young scout mentioned is my son, Brad Kimbrough; and the
other recipient of the Medal of Merit is my husband, Jim Kimbrough,
who was also involved in saving Brad that day. The award is dated
July 25, 1989.

“A follow-up to the incident is that Brad went back the same day
to join the rest of the hikers on the fifty-miler and completed the
hike after suffering the stroke. Also he stayed in Boy Scouts and
is now an Eagle Scout. Thanks for publishing human interest stories
such as these and promoting the Boy Scouts and their leaders.”
