Hannon, Lonzi set school records

Sarah Lonzi and Erin Hannon established school records in
Bradford High’s 117-32 track and field win over Kane on
Tuesday.

Hannon (high jump, long jump, triple jump, 100 hurdles) and
Lindsay Sherman (200, 400, 400 relay, 1600 relay) each quadrupled
for the Lady Owls (4-0). Hannon’s triple jump of 39’7″ broke her
previous school record of 39’4 1/2″ set earlier this year.

Renee Cavallaro tripled (3200 relay, 800, 1600 relay).

Tricia Copeland (100, 400 relay), Katie White (400 relay, 1600
relay) and Lonzi (1600, 1600 relay) each doubled. Lonzi’s time of
5:17.8 in the 1600 broke the previous school record of 5:19.4 set
in 1993 by Kristy Vanorden.

“It was a good day for us,” Bradford coach Larry Stillman said.
“We had a lot of good times and distances.

“We broke two team records today and had many personal bests.
Sarah broke one of our oldest records in the 1600. Kristy was a
great runner and set the record at districts in 1993. Sarah has
been aiming for this for a while and it was nice to see her get
it.

“Erin continues to improve each week in the triple jump. She
keeps adding a little bit more toward the perfect jump. We still
have more to do but it’s out there.

“Lindsay had a good day and one of her best 200s ever. Tricia
had her best ever 100 and went over 32′ in the triple jump. Renee
had three solid races and Katie had her best ever 1600 and went
over 14′ in the long jump in her first time jumping since middle
school.

“Dana Carrico had a good day in the sprints and the long jump.
She had her best 100 and a mid-14′ long jump. Bobbi Hopkins won the
300 hurdles and had a solid 100 hurdle race. Kevryn Boser had her
two best races in the 100 and 300 hurdles. She has worked hard and
is really coming along. Erica Pascarella cleared 5′ for the first
time in the high jump and placed second.

“Bri Rychcik and Rachel Garges both had good days in the pole
vault. Paige Ambrose won the 3200 with a solid race. In the throws,
Katie Vecellio and Whitney Cline both went over 90′ in the
javelin.”

The Lady Owls practice at 3 p.m. today.

They return to action April 18 at Brookville.
