Hannon quadruples in Lady Owls’ win

Erin Hannon quadrupled to lead the Bradford High Lady Owls to a
105-36 victory over Olean in high school track and field action
Thursday.

Hannon placed first in the high jump (5’3″), long jump (18’8
3/4″), triple jump (39’4 1/2″) and 100 hurdles (15.0). In addition,
Hannon broke her own records in the long jump (18’7 1/2″, 2006) and
triple jump (38’8 1/2″, 2005) as well as finishing with a personal
best time in the 100 hurdles.

“Her hard work in the jumps is beginning to show,” praised Larry
Stillman, BAHS head coach.

Tripling for the Lady Owls was Tricia Copeland (100 dash, 200
dash, 400 relay), while Lindsay Sherman (400 dash, 400 relay) and
Chloe Nickel (300 hurdles, 400 relay) doubled.

“Our sprinters and hurdlers looked good,” Stillman said. “Tricia
Copeland ran the 200 for the first time and really hit a great time
(27.3).

“Lindsay had a another good 400 (1:03) and Chloe looked good in
the 300 hurdles (48.8).

“It was a good night for many of our kids. Dana Carrico had her
best 100 and 200 of the year and our 400 relay ran an excellent
time (52.0) for this early.

“Bobbi Hopkins and Kevryn Boser had personal best times in the
hurdles and freshmen Steph Austin and Ellie Hawkins earned
third-place finishes in the 400 and 200.

“The distance kids looked sharp. Sarah Lonzi, coming back from
some leg soreness, looked very good in the 3200 and Paige Ambrose
had a personal best with a good 1600 time.

“Renee Cavallaro had two good races and freshmen Erica
Pascarella and Caitlin Szczupak both grabbed second places in the
1600 and 800, respectively.

“In the pole vault, Bri Rychcik and Rachel Garges did well,
taking second and third. We won the shot behind Katie Vecellio and
discus behind Katlyn Nelson. The weather was pleasant and I think
that really helped. It’s always nice to be at home.”

The Lady Owls (3-0) will travel to the South Hills Classic in
Pittsburgh on Saturday.
