Those planning to travel U.S. Route 219 northbound through
Bradford next week may want to change their travel route as
motorists will see the two-lane road turn into single-lane traffic
due to construction on the Bradford Bypass northbound.
Mascaro Contracting will be working on U.S. Route 219, Bradford
Bypass, and a new traffic pattern will be in effect for Route 219
northbound on Wednesday. Motorists will see traffic restricted to
one lane northbound from approximately the Owens Way Exit to just
north of the Kendall Avenue Exit. The Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation announced that traffic will remain in this
configuration until further notice.
During the construction next week, the contractor will begin
guide rail removal, right-of-way fence removal and excavation for
temporary widening of the roadway. All activities will be conducted
along U.S. Route 219 northbound only, and all construction is
dependent on the weather. The road work next week is the beginning
of construction that is planned for next week through Nov. 10,
2007, for the construction of the Bradford Bypass of Route 219.
To monitor the progress of the road work and check any changes
to the traffic patterns, motorists can visit the Pennsylvania
Department of Transportation Web site and click on the Statewide
Construction Map to get updates concerning on-going projects.
Also, citizens who want to report road concerns can call PennDOT
Maintenance at 1-800-FIX-ROAD (1-800-349-7623) to report their
concerns.
