Bradford man killed in accident

LIMESTONE, N.Y. -ðA Bradford, Pa., man was killed in a
two-vehicle accident Saturday evening on U.S. Route 219 near the
Cow Palace in Limestone.

Olean-based New York State Police said James “Jack” Ault, 75, of
45 Oakwood Ave., died Saturday as a result of the accident, which
happened at 5:15 p.m. at the intersection of Route 219 and Hillside
Drive in the Town of Carrollton.

A representative with the McKean County (Pa.) Emergency Dispatch
Center said Sunday the Bradford City Fire Department’s Medic 1 was
dispatched to the scene of the accident at 5:14 p.m.

According to state police, a car driven by Ault was westbound on
Hillside Drive and failed to stop at a stop sign while entering
Route 219. A sport-utility vehicle driven by Karen I. Lewis, 52, of
Shippenville, Pa., was northbound on Route 219 and ended up hitting
the driver’s side of the Ault car.

Ault was pronounced dead at the scene by Cattaraugus County
Coroner Howard Van Rensselaer, who said Sunday he did not yet know
the official cause of Ault’s death, adding he was waiting on
autopsy results due in today.

Lewis was not injured, police said.

A brief obituary for Ault appears on page 2 of today’s Era.
