BHS spikers grab win over Ridgway

RIDGWAY – The Bradford Lady Owls volleyball team grabbed a win
from the Lady Elkers of Ridgway 25-6, 25-11, 25-9 in high school
volleyball action Thursday.

“We finally played with intensity the entire game,” proclaimed
BHS coach Judy Abbey. “We were able to put together three really
good games and I was able to play some of my younger players.”

Leading the Lady Owls were Brittany Holsinger (18 points, 4
kills), Jenn Hilmes (5 digs), Erin Hannon (5 points, 13 kills),
Rachel Garges (5 digs, 14 points), Caitlin Persichini (25 assists,
7 points), Lexie Goble (5 points, 7 kills) and Katlyn Nelson (4
digs, 5 points, 9 kills).

“I had a great front row tonight with Goble, Hannon and Nelson,”
admitted Abbey.

“Holsinger played well up on net with some great kills and just
had an excellent game,” Abbey continued.

“Nicole Keane, Katie Vecellio, Bobby Hopkins, Sarah Randolph and
Carolyn Breznik came off the bench for us and played very well,”
Abbey praised.

“We are getting ready for the playoffs and it was great to be
able to control the game,” Abbey stated.

In JV action the Lady Owls beat Ridgway 25-12, 21-25, 25-20.

The Lady Owls (8-7) will travel to Johnsonburg on Tuesday.
