HS Girls Basketball: O-E upends Coudy for first time since 2018; Cameron Co. wins

COUDERSPORT — The Otto-Eldred girls basketball made a statement Wednesday night, topping defending District 9 champion Coudersport, 38-27.

The road victory marked the program’s first win over the Lady Falcons since Jan. 27, 2018 and gave head coach Shawn Gray his first win over Coudersport. He was 0-6 against the Lady Falcons prior to Wednesday.

Katie Sheeler led the Lady Terrors (2-0) with 12 points and Reilly Raught finished behind her with seven. Raught, Bri Heller and Emmalee Sheeler each brought down six rebounds for O-E during the victory, while Katie Sheeler tallied five steals. Morgan Dalton and Katie Sheeler each hit a pair of shots from behind the arc.

O-E led 8-7 after the first quarter and turned up its intensity on the defensive end of the floor, holding the Lady Falcons (1-1) scoreless in the second quarter.

After taking an 18-7 halftime lead, the Lady Terrors were able to keep their foot on the gas in the second half on their way to a huge victory.

For the Lady Falcons, Elizabeth Frame had a team-high seven points, while Rosalyn Page and Sarah Chambers each scored five.
