Zonta Club

The Zonta Club of Bradford met Wednesday at the Bradford Club. Featured speaker at the meeting was Isabelle Champlin, an anthropology professor at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford who retired in 2011 after 40 years of teaching.

While working at UPB, she was the director of the international studies programs, traveling abroad with students to Japan, and to Mayan archaeological sites in Mexico, Guatemala, Belize and Honduras. Since retiring, Champlin has continued traveling to archaeological sites located in the United States, Greece, Italy and Easter Island.

Champlin spoke with the Zontians about her adventures in Easter Island (Rapa Nui), an island in the southeastern Pacific Ocean, at the southeastern most point of the Polynesian Triangle in Oceania.
