NOTICE

On behalf of the McKean County Commissioners and the Bradford Township Supervisors, the Redevelopment Authority of the County of McKean will hold a public hearing at the McKean County Redevelopment Authority’s Office, 415 West Main Street, Smethport, PA at 10:00 AM on August 27th, 2026.

This meeting is accessible to persons with disabilities and/or for persons with Limited English Proficiency. The purpose of this public hearing is to discuss: the McKean County and Bradford Township Community Development Block Grant programs, receive public input, comments and questions regarding proposed use of County and Bradford Township CDBG funds.

At least 70% of the CDBG funds are required to serve at least 51% low to moderate income (LMI) persons or households.

McKean County’s policy, is to not undertake any activities that would result in the displacement of families or individuals. McKean County is responsible for replacing all LMI housing (if habitable or feasible to rehabilitate) that are demolished or converted as a result of the use of CDBG funds.

The PA Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) has announced the application deadline of October 30th, 2026.

Proposed Projects

McKean County 2026 CDBG allocation is in the amount of $234,887. The following eligible activities, totaling $192,608 for McKean County’s CDBG funding are being proposed as follows:

Installation of LMI Sewer Laterals

Lafayette Township $60,000.00

County Wide Spot Demolition County Wide $20,000.00

County Wide Housing Rehab County Wide $112,608.00

The funds remaining from McKean County’s 2026 CDBG funding will be used for program administration.

Bradford Township’s 2026 CDBG allocation is in the amount of $102,089. The following eligible activities, totaling $83,713 for Bradford Township’s CDBG funding are being proposed:

Rehab Bradford Township $83,713.00

The funds remaining from Bradford Township’s 2026 CDBG funding will be used for program administration.

The budgets for the above projects may be adjusted to reflect changes made by requesting agencies or through the addition of additional requests received prior to submission of the grant application. Interested citizens are encouraged to attend and will be offered the opportunity to give public input at the public hearing and/or to present written comments concerning the McKean County and/or Bradford Township proposed CDBG program activities.
