NOTICE
On behalf of the McKean County Commissioners and the Bradford Township Supervisors, the Redevelopment Authority of the County of McKean will hold a public hearing at the McKean County Redevelopment Authority’s Office, 415 West Main Street, Smethport, PA at 10:00 AM on June 3rd, 2025. A separate hearing will be held at the Bradford Township Municipal Building, 136 Hemlock Street, Bradford, PA at 2:00 PM on June 3rd, 2025. This meeting is accessible to persons with disabilities and/or for persons with Limited English Proficiency. The purpose of this public hearing is to receive municipal and public input, project ideas, comments, and questions regarding the past, present or future project funding for the following CDBG programs:
1. McKean County’s 2025 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding in the anticipated amount of
approximately $235,499, ideas for potential projects, how to apply, and the prior use of County CDBG funds.
2. Bradford Township’s 2025 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding in the anticipated amount of approximately $101,944, ideas for potential projects, how to apply, and the prior use of Bradford Township
CDBG funds.
In the past, McKean County has funded a variety of projects that meet the Low to Moderate Income (LMI) benefit criteria, such as sewer or water line replacements, homeowner water/sewer lateral installations, homeowner
housing rehabilitation, sidewalk/curb replacement, park improvements, lighting improvements, fire rescue equipment, street/road improvements, etc. The County has also funded a spot demolition program under the Slums and Blight National Objective.
In the past, Bradford Township has funded LMI Homeowner Housing Rehabilitation, a Spot Demolition Program and ADA Improvements.
All CDBG projects (County or Bradford Township) must meet either the 51% Low to Moderate Income Criteria or the Slums and Blight criteria to be eligible for funding.
Public comment for the County and Bradford Township 2025 CDBG funds will be accepted until June 13th, 2025.
A second public hearing will be scheduled to announce the County and Township’s proposed use of the 2025 CDBG funds. The location, dates, and times for the second public hearing will be advertised at a later date.
