About the District: The Ridgway Area School District serves
a close-knit, rural community where schools are the
heart of the region. With a proud tradition of academic
achievement, dedicated staff, strong community partnerships,
and a commitment to student success, our district provides a
supportive learning environment for approximately 770
students in grades K–12.
Position Summary: The Ridgway Area School District is
seeking a dynamic, compassionate, and visionary educational
leader to serve as Superintendent of Schools. The successful
candidate will be an advocate for rural education, committed to
student achievement and community engagement. This leader
will guide the district in its mission to prepare students for
lifelong success in a rapidly changing world, while honoring
the unique values and traditions of our community.
Key Attributes: Possess insight and experience to identify
current, relevant and forward-thinking best practices in
education that align with the mission, vision and philosophy of
the school district, while equipping students with the necessary
skills for future education or employment.
· Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to build
collaborative relationships with staff, students, parents and
local community partners to advance the district’s mission,
vision and goals.
· Exhibit executive leadership skills that demonstrate the ability
to lead with integrity, vision and accountability that encourages
and motivates others to assume leadership roles.
· Possess strong skills in finance, budgeting and cost-
effectiveness strategies while able to evaluate the budgetary
impact of district initiatives.
· Ability to assess areas of district improvement in support
service areas and oversee major district initiatives – both
educationally and operationally.
· Understand the unique needs and strengths of rural
communities
Qualifications:
· Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or
related field (Doctorate preferred) or a Graduate Degree from
an accredited university in Business, Finance or Management
with at least 4 years of relevant experience in business, finance,
or management
· Pennsylvania Superintendent Letter of Eligibility (or ability
to obtain)
· Minimum of 5 years of successful administrative experience,
preferably in a public school setting
Salary and Benefits: Salary and benefits will be regionally
competitive based on education, training, experience,
qualifications and meeting board criteria including but not
limited to the skills listed above.
