INVITATION TO BID

The McKean County Redevelopment Authority will

accept bids for the Removal of a vacant, blighted structure

located at 6 Oil Valley Road, Duke Center, PA until

3:00 PM on August 11th, 2025, at the Redevelopment

Authority’s Office, 415 West Main Street, Smethport, PA

16749, at which time all bids will be opened and read aloud.

BID # 2025-007 – The 208 N. Main Street structure is a large

vacant 2 story wooden structure with a basement. The

structure has portions of the roof missing, causing mold,

mildew and rot. Debris is scattered throughout the structure.

All debris shall be disposed of in a legal and acceptable

manner. This project also includes site restoration, including

access damages, after the site has been cleared. McKean

County landfill costs will be paid directly by MCRA and

should not be included in the contractor’s bid for removal.

A Pre-Bid meeting will be held at the demolition site on

August 5th at 10:00 AM. It is strongly recommended that

interested Contractors view the property prior to submitting

a bid.

In order to submit a bid, copies of the specifications and

documents to submit must be requested by contacting the

Redevelopment Authority. Bids should be submitted to

MCRA in a sealed envelope with “Contractor Bid for

Demo #2025-007R” written on the outside of the envelope.

The contractor will be required to comply with all applicable

EEO, Section 3 (if applicable), Minority and Women’s

Business Enterprises (if applicable), and non-discrimination

requirements. Federal Wage Rates are not applicable to this

project; however, State Prevailing Wage Rates must be paid on

all projects over $25,000.00.

The Redevelopment Authority requires all bidders to submit a

10% Bid Guarantee with their bid. The amount is based on the

quote and will be returned to all unsuccessful bidders. The

winning bidder will have this payment returned after

successful completion of the project.

The McKean County Redevelopment Authority reserves the

right to accept or reject any and all bids and to waive any

informalities in the bidding process.

Bids may be held for a period not to exceed 60 calendar days

from the date of the Bid Opening
