UPB men fall to Medaille, 83-60

Medaille had four players in double-figures, including 13 points and 11 rebounds from Jonathan Smith, to send the visiting Mavericks to a 83-60 victory over the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford in AMCC play Monday night.

Medaille (3-7, 1-4) dominated on both ends of the court in the first half, cruising to a 43-23 advantage after 20 minutes.

Brandon Roach (13 points), Kendall McGill (13) and Rodney Graves (12) also tallied double figures for the Mavericks. Graves earned a double-double with 12 rebounds.

UPB, which shot just 4-for-26 from 3-point range, was led by 13 points from Nick Carmichael.

Gavin Boggs had a solid all-around game for the Panthers (1-8, 0-6), registering six points, six assists and six rebounds.

UPB has lost five consecutive games. The Panthers return to the court Dec. 29 at the St. John Fisher Tournament.


UPB 64, Medaille 62

Shaelyn Snipes, Taylor Sutryk and Jasmin Miller each tied with a team-high 11 points to lead the UPB women’s basketball team to a hard-fought win over AMCC rival Medaille.

Snipes earned a double-double with 10 rebounds to send the Panthers to 2-2 in league play.
