The Bradford Blizzard U16 hockey team brought home a championship after competing in the U16/U18 mixed division at the 23rd Annual Wishbone Classic in Rochester, New York this past weekend.
They played their first game against the Cheektowaga Warriors on Friday, winning 7-0. Scoring for Bradford were Henry Brairton and Peyton Keller, who each had two goals, while Evan Elmore, Colin Conneely and Tyson See each scored a goal. Max Matheson was in the net for the shutout.
Bradford went on to defeat the Rochester Junior Americans Friday evening, 8-2. Ty Hardy, Henry Brairton, and Brendan Confer each scored two goals with Evan Elmore and Colin Conneely each scoring one.Max Matheson was in the net for the win.
Bradford defeated Cheektowaga Saturday, 7-3. Henry Brairton and Peyton Keller each scored two goals. Colin Conneely, Tyson See, and Erik Elmore each scored one goal.
The final game was against Rochester, with Bradford winning the championship after a double overtime win, 3-2. Tyson See and Henry Brairton each scored during regulation game with Colin Conneely scoring the winning goal in the second extra period. Max Matheson and Thomas Buckvich split duties in net for both games Saturday.
Henry Brairton took home Most Valuable Player for the weekend.
