Port Allegany man Rajeev Pradhan has filed petitions to be on the Democratic ballot in the April 23 primary election for the 67th Legislative District seat held by Rep. Marty Causer.

Causer, R-Turtlepoint, has filed for re-election on the Republican ballot, which would make for a race in the general election in November.

Pradhan is a clinical PACS administrator in radiology at UPMC Cole in Coudersportl.

Causer was first elected to the seat in 2002.

Tuesday was the first day to circulate and file nomination papers for the upcoming primary election, scheduled for April 23 in this year of a presidential race.

According to the McKean County Board of Elections, the seats on the ballot in the primary election will be as follows: president of the United States, U.S. senator, state attorney general, state auditor general, state treasurer, representative in U.S. House of Representatives for 15th District, representative in the U.S. Senate for the 25th District, and representative in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 67th District.

Both parties will have delegates to the national conventions up for election as well.

On the Democratic ballot, the presidential candidates on the ballot are incumbent Joe Biden and Minnesota Rep. Dean Phillips. On the Republican ballot, the presidential candidates are former president Donald Trump and former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley.

For U.S. Senator, the incumbent Democratic candidate is Bob Casey, a three-term senator from Scranton. The Republican candidates are veteran David McCormick, who has served as Undersecretary of the Treasury and Deputy National Security Advisor; and Joseph Vodvarka, a small manufacturing business owner from Allegheny County.

For state attorney general, five Democrats have filed: Rep. Jared Solomon of Philadelphia, Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer, former state auditor general Eugene DePasquale, former federal prosecutor Joe Kahn and the former head of public defense lawyers for Philadelphia County, Keir Bradford-Grey.

On the Republican side, York County District Attorney David Sunday filed to run, as did Wendell Craig Williams, a member of the House of Representatives and a former federal prosecutor.

For state treasurer, the Democratic candidates are Ryan Bizzaro of Erie and Erin McClelland of Allegheny County, while Republican incumbent Stacy Garrity filed for re-election.

For auditor general, Democrats Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta of Philadelphia and Lehigh County Controller Mark Pinsley filed to run. Republican incumbent Timothy DeFoor filed for re-election.

In the 15th Congressional District, the seat currently held by Republican Glenn Thompson, the Centre County incumbent will seek re-election. On the Democratic ballot, Zacheray Womer of Philipsburg has filed a petition to run. He is a board member of the Centre County Mental Health, Intellectual Disability and Early Intervention Advisory Board and has worked previously as an independent contractor and blogger for the Penn State Journal of Law and International Affairs, according to LinkedIn.

In the state Senate for the 25th District, incumbent Republican Sen. Cris Dush has filed for re-election. No Democrats have filed for the seat.
