The Bradford City Council meeting was short on Tuesday night with only a few routine items on the agenda.
Two new temporary firefighter/EMTs were approved — Micah Jordan and Austin Coleman were appointed to fill in for vacations as per their contracts from June 1 through Sept. 1 of this year.
In other business, payment from Capital Reserve Account, in the amount of $5,483.40 was approved to The Shed Guy L.L.C for the purchase of a 12X16 dog enclosure for the police dog that the City of Bradford Police department will be getting. These are donated funds.
Additionally, funding for construction services on Constitution Avenue to Hannon Engineering was approved. The amount of the payment is not to exceed $10,000.
On second reading, an ordinance was approved to amend the collection fees for delinquent garbage accounts. While the agency that had been performing the service charged 35%, the new agency charges 18%.
In other matters, former employee Gary Alcock will have over $46,000 in pension contributions returned, as was approved.
The Zippo/Case Museum will celebrate its 25th anniversary this year. An event is planned at the museum on June 11 and more information will be announced.
Finally, Mayor James McDonald ordered all flags will fly at half-staff for the rest of the week due to the tragic event in Texas on Tuesday.
