SUMMER GRILLING: The heat is on, or, well, it’s coming.

Time to get those grills ready for cooking up the good stuff. Before grilling the ultimate burgers, equipment should be inspected and ready for the task. The National Fire Protection Agency suggests the following:

Once grills are ready, it is time to get grilling. What better to start with than the perfect burger.

Choose the right meat. Most experts agree that 80/20 beef is the preferred choice for patties. Form patties into 4 inch round, flat burgers and then place a thumb indentation in the center of each one. Keep in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before grilling.

Heat grill, season and place burgers seasoned side down, and leave them alone.

Timing is everything. Flip at around 4 minutes. Cook side two for 3 to 4 minutes and then enjoy a juicy burger.
